The Neurodiverse postgrad researchers network is a volunteer-run peer-support network which aims to help Neurodivergent postgraduate students and researchers to connect with each other, and to share resources and information that might be helpful.
It was co-founded by Sheila and Nicole in 2019 while they were PhD students. Sheila had newly been diagnosed with dyspraxia and dyslexia and wanted to understand more about these diagnoses and how they impact on doctoral study, and also to meet other Neurodivergent people.
Since we started, we have grown to a Twitter following of over 1000 people from different countries worldwide. We have this website which was set up by Jo (thanks Jo!). We have been able to keep the group going with the assistance of volunteer helpers, and we hope to continue helping postgraduate researchers, now and in the future.
We have a Twitter account @NDPostgrads where we share information that might be useful or relevant to our followers, and about any events we are running. We also regularly run online meet-ups on Zoom.
We were recently guests on the Phdeets podcast, as part of a panel discussion about Neurodiversity at University, which you can listen to here (Episode title: Neurodiversity at University):
